Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian, who's been performing for some time. Her birthplace was in Kildare Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. The comedian appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, more popularly known by her stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984) is an Irish writer, actress and stand-up comic. Following appearances in bits in several Irish and British TV shows from 2009, Bea began her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. The year 2012 saw her begin appearing on a variety of sitcoms and sketch shows. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured regularly in various panel shows. Between 2016 and 2017 she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats team and also a part-time participant of the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. The actress is the child of Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her older sister was born. In 2012, she became the first woman ever to receive the So You Think You Are Funny award. She uses the surnamed Bea in honor of her deceased father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also referred to as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian took his life at age three. He was a horse vet. Bea wasn't told the specifics of his passing to death until she was 13 years old. The stage name she chose was Bea as a tribute to her father. She also wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea's mother Helen was also an instructor for jockeys and a former professional jockey, was the one responsible for raising her and Sinead. The family was awed by horses, race meetings and the racing industry. When she was a child, Bea was a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she was not keen on the sport of racing as a job, and was a performer.
